Gamelan, A Musical Ensemble From Indonesia The Javanese Orchestra

Gamelan is the music created by the sound of gongs alloys, kenong and other Javanese musical instruments. The rhythm of the music that is soft and reflects the harmony of Javanese life will soon greet and soothe the soul so heard. Gamelan is surely not a foreign music. Its popularity has spread to various continents and has created a new blend of jazz-gamelan music, gave birth to the institution as a learning space and the expression of gamelan music, to produce famous gamelan musicians. Gamelan music instrument can now be enjoyed in many parts of the world, but Yogyakarta is the most appropriate place to enjoy the gamelan is it since you can enjoy the original version.

Developing gamelan in Yogyakarta is Javanese gamelan, a different form of gamelan Balinese gamelan or Sundanese gamelan. Javanese gamelan has a softer tone and slow, in contrast to the dynamic Balinese gamelan and Sundanese gamelan highly dominated lilting voice and flute. The difference is understandable, because Java has its own view of life expressed in the rhythm of gamelan music.

Javanese philosophy of life expressed in gamelan music is the harmony of physical and spiritual life, speak and act in harmony in order not to create an explosive expression and to manifest tolerance. Real form of music is the pull string fiddle that is, a balanced blend of sound kenong, saron drum and xylophone and gong sounds on every cover of a rhythm.

There is no definite history of gamelan. The development of gamelan music is expected since the emergence of rafters, fiddle, pat into the mouth, the friction on a thin rope or bamboo to familiar musical instruments from metal. Subsequent developments after named gamelan music was used to accompany the leather puppet show and dances. Later it became independent as the music itself and are equipped with voice sinden.

A set of gamelan consist of several instruments, including a set of similar musical instrument drum called drums, fiddle and zither, xylophone, gongs and bamboo flutes. The main components that make up the gamelan music instruments are bamboo, metal, and wood. Each instrument has its own function in gamelan music show, for example gong music played to close a long and gave the balance after the previous musical rhythm was decorated by gending.

Javanese gamelan is music with pentatonic melodies. A complete gamelan game consists of two rounds, namely slendro and pelog. Slendro has five tones per octave, ie 1 2 3 5 6 [C-D E + GA] with small differences in the interval. Pelog has seven tones per octave, ie 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 [C + D E-F # G # AB] with a large difference interval. Gamelan music compositions created by some rules, which consist of several rounds and pathet, limited by a gong and the melodies were created in a unit consisting of four tones.

You can see gamelan as an independent music performance or a dance or performing arts such as wayang kulit and ketoprak. As a performance, gamelan music is usually combined with the sound of the Javanese singers (male singers and female singers called wiraswara called waranggana or sinden). Gamelan music concert performance can be classical or contemporary gamelan. One form of contemporary gamelan music is jazz-gamelan music as a combination of pentatonic and diatonic melodies.

One of the places in Yogyakarta where you can see is the Kraton Yogyakarta gamelan performances. On Thursday at 10:00 to 12:00 p.m. gamelan as a music performance. Day Saturday at the same time as the accompaniment of gamelan music performed shadow puppet show, while on Sunday at the same time as the accompaniment of gamelan music performed traditional Javanese dance. To see the show, you can go to the Hall of Sri Maganti. Meanwhile, in order to see the old gamelan, you can go to another of the kingdom which lies further to the rear.

Wedding Cruise Choices

Wedding Cruise Choices A wedding cruise can be a great way to get out and have a different kind of wedding than the ones you normally witness in everyday life. A good example of a wedding cruise that can be fun is one where the couple gets married under the stars on the deck of the ship itself. Not only is it completely romantic to do so, but the emotions can cause the bond between the couple to be strengthened just by the simple act itself. Add to this the great luxury and fun of a cruise vacation and you have a recipe that very few people would be able to turn away from.

However, wedding cruises are no different from other wedding ceremonies in that there needs to be an appropriate amount of planning and execution in order to ensure that the wedding ceremony and all of the related activities flow smoothly in a manner that does not cause any undue stress to the happy couple. There are very many choices that a couple needs to make concerning wedding cruises and there is also a very distinct priority that they should follow in making them.

The most important choice is the choice of cruise. This in turn serves to make subsequent choices easier and as such should be tackled first. The main consideration when it comes to the cruise is the price and in order to make the rest of the choices easier it is very necessary that the couple choose a cruise that they can afford. There is nothing worse than coming to the realization that you can not afford something after hours of planning have already been put in; deciding on the cruise beforehand will eliminate this possibility.

Once that choice is out of the way, the next priority should be the guest list. Even though cruise ships are very big, they do not accommodate many people. Most of the room is taken up by the luxury facilities and as such guest lists are going to be smaller than they would be at a wedding in a Church. This means that the couple needs to have a top priority list of close friends and family to invite as well as an auxiliary list of people to invite if they have space left at the end.

Once these two choices are made, then and only then should all of the other wedding specifics be arranged. Things like centerpieces, entertainment and details about the actual ceremony can be worked out with the cruise liner company well in advance of the actual date to eliminate any of the stress involved.

What Do You Need for a Wedding Cruise?

A wedding cruise can be an absolute gem if pulled off properly, but at the same time it can become a logistical nightmare if proper planning is absent. The wedding cruise itself is all going to be taken care of by the company that you are going on a cruise with, but at the same time there are a number of other things that you need to be aware of when you are planning for the wedding cruise.

The first thing you need to plan for is the monetary part of the cruise itself. There is nothing worse than planning everything out in detail only to realize right at the very end that you do not have the money to pay for it. In order to avoid this undesirable outcome, make sure that you are well aware of what the monetary costs are going to be in advance and also make sure that you are able to pay those monetary costs reasonably quickly. If you can not afford a wedding cruise, then you need to be honest about that up front rather than figuring it out later once all the planning has been done.

Once you are certain that you have the ability to pay for the wedding cruise, then it is time to sit down and figure out your guest list. Remember that a wedding cruise ceremony is either going to take place on the boat itself or alternatively at one of the different ports of call. In both cases, chances are that your guest list is going to be a lot lower than it would be for a normal wedding in a Church or other religious building. Wedding cruises are more expensive to pull off and are also more crowded on the boat (since you probably would not be alone) and both of these combine to make the guest list smaller than normal. Make sure you have a priority list of close friends and relatives and then another list of people to invite if you have extra space. Doing so will make your life a lot easier later on down the road.

Once you have the monetary concerns sorted out and the guest list assembled, then and only then is it time to start planning out the ceremony. Make a phone call to the company that is hosting the cruise you are going on and get them to send you the information about all of the different choices for the different aspects of their wedding ceremony. Go over these choices with a fine-toothed comb and choose exactly what you want. Take your time and have fun; after all, you will only get this day once!

Is a Wedding Cruise Right for You?

Is a Wedding Cruise Right for You Well, there is no particularly easy way to answer that question aside from pointing out the different advantages of a wedding cruise might just be the thing for you. If you are reading this article, chances are you have already heard about wedding cruises and are wondering if one could be right for you. Not only that, but it is going to be very romantic; you will either be getting married on a tropical island. Wedding cruises are going to be full of pomp and circumstance.

Once you have figured out the money situation, it then comes down to how much you want a wedding that is different from the norm. Nothing is worse than planning out the dream wedding only to realize later that you do not have the money to pay for it, so avoid this path if at all possible. The only point to keep in mind here is that you should already be looking to spend a lot of money on your wedding for it to be worth it to consider a wedding cruise. This is not to say that you have to be rich to afford a wedding cruise; nothing could be further from the truth in fact.

First and foremost, it is important to point out that wedding cruises are still going to cost a pretty penny so this type of wedding ceremony does require some money in order to do properly. Well, there is no particularly easy way to answer that question aside from pointing out the different advantages of a wedding cruise and seeing if those advantages do indeed appeal to you. If you are reading this article, chances are you have already heard about wedding cruises and are wondering if one could be right for you. Wedding cruises fulfill both of these and this is what draws many people to them. These types of people are drawn towards wedding ceremonies that are a little extravagant and very much extroverted in the celebrations that go on.

The older marriage ceremonies that take place in a religious institution of some sort are very popular and always will be but some couples might be of different religions or alternatively might not have any religion at all and what that eventually boils down to in the end is that they want an option that is not religious and at the same time is able to provide them with the same fulfillment as marriage in a Church or other religious building would. Wedding cruises have started to become more popular as time wears on.

Wedding Cruises and Honeymoons

Wedding Cruises and Honeymoons One of the biggest advantages of wedding cruises is that they easily give way towards honeymoons. When a couple sits down to plan a wedding at a Church, the planning for the honeymoon is almost always going to be separate from the planning for the wedding and the wedding reception. The reason for this is that the wedding will take place in the Church and it is quite possible that the reception might as well, but the honeymoon is going to be somewhere completely removed from the Church area. This means logically that it does not make much sense to plan them together.

This is not so for wedding cruises. The whole idea behind a wedding cruise is that it is designed not only to be more emotional and romantic, but also to be more boisterous. This means that the wedding reception has already created the festive atmosphere that comes with departing on a honeymoon so the bride and groom are already in the appropriate mood to go out and celebrate their marriage through honeymooning. Additionally, it is also advantageous from a geographical perspective. When you consider something like a tropical island cruise where the ship actually lands at a number of different ports of call along the way, it makes it easier to have the wedding ceremony during the cruise and then easily branch off for the honeymoon when all is said and done.

In order to illustrate the ease, let us take an example. A typical Caribbean cruise on sale now lasts for two weeks and visits three different Caribbean islands during the actual tour (most of the cruise is at sea and the ship itself has a lot of amenities). This ship does have the facilities necessary to have a wedding cruise ceremony on the ship itself or alternatively there is the option of having it at one of the ports of call.

A very common wedding cruise structure that might happen on this ship would be to have the wedding two or three days into the voyage and then disembark for a week at the first port of call. While the cruise ship visits the other ports the couple has their honeymoon and they get back on the cruise ship when it re-visits their port of call on the way back to the starting point. The whole process is fluid and this makes it a lot easier to organize than most other wedding and honeymoon combinations.

Imagine this: majestic mountains and glaciers in the background, sun for 23 hrs a day, the songs of whales as they call for each other in the ocean. An Alaska wedding cruise may be the thing for you. You may also consider extending your wedding cruise to include pre-cruise or post-cruise stays and explore more of the interior.

Cruises generally run May to September, with the best deals being at the beginning and at the end of the cruise season. An online travel agency can help you find the perfect package for your wedding cruise, including flights to and from the port of departure, the cruise line package that you want with all the excursions that you are interested in. The Best Wedding Cruise Packages In The Bahamas

The Best Wedding Cruise Packages In The Bahamas Many couples today are opting for wedding cruises instead of ceremonies in churches. To capitalize on this, many cruise lines now offer honeymoon and wedding packages for those couples that want to tie the not with an added element of romance. Now planning the wedding involves locating the ideal wedding cruise to go on.

A popular wedding cruise is the Disney Cruise Line weddings. The wedding is paid for in addition to the normal cruise line pricing. The ceremony can be held in any of the ships lounges or on board on one of the special sun decks. After the wedding ceremony, the reception provides the guests with an ample supply of wedding cake and champagne. The costs for this type of wedding are generally less than $2,000.

The Disney wedding cruise also provides another option that will allow you to get married at Castaway Cay, one of Disney's private Islands in the Bahamas. If this option is chosen, Disney will transport the bride ahead of time to the site of the wedding. The reception would still be held back on the ship. The actual legal ceremony, no matter which option is chosen, will be held before the couple even boards the ship.

Carnival also offers them to Nassau Bahamas, and depending on the amenities and the number of guests that attend the ceremony, the price can run between $1,000 - $2,000. Amenities range from a basic Bahamas ceremony, a welcome aboard package and a deluxe romance package.

The most common package seems to be the Welcome Aboard package, which includes a reception lasting 1 hour, sparkling wine, hors d'oeuvres and wedding cake for all guests. They even supply the photographer.

Some of the Royal Caribbean cruises offer an option of a wedding, but not all of their cruises. It needs to be in Bahama's waters 24 hours prior to the arrival in Nassau and the beginning of the wedding. Prices here typically range from $1,500 - $2,000. One key note for the Royal Caribbean cruises is that the legal ceremony does take place on the actual island and all arrangements can be made with the on board wedding coordinator.

When choosing your cruise, keep in mind the honeymoon aspect as well. Make sure your destination will provide romantic and enjoyable views of the Bahamas. Once said and done, you will enjoy all aspects of a wedding cruise and honeymoon.

Wedding Cruise - A Novel Idea

Wedding Cruise - A Novel Idea In a person's life wedding is so blissful and special that its preparation including invitations designing, selection of the menu, and choosing the colors for creation of attractive environment, becomes a matter of pleasure. However there are many other important tasks like budgeting, organizing entertainment, and hiring a minister of course. One making wedding arrangements has no doubt to pass through stresses and strains.

Wedding cruise is the lovely idea of cruise liners

A wedding can be conveniently arranged on a cruise ship though the idea is novel no doubt. If you prefer to arrange wedding, from its A to Z- the ceremony, the reception and the honeymoon-within your financial limitations, on a cruise ship it would be very charming. Many cruise lines are capable enough to organize a wedding on board taking care of all its aspects. The person in charge of planning wedding in that organization can do that for a few thousand dollars while if you are lucky enough you may get offers at less than thousand dollars for slightly less gorgeous but very impressive wedding still on board. That the honeymoon vacation on a luxury cruiser is included in that makes it so very attractive to you.

Wedding destinations can be cruise ships

Obviously it is not a practical proposition that all your invitees will get a cruise ticket each to join your wedding celebration and enjoy the cruise trip. But the cruise lines allow the guests to be on board the ship during the ceremony and a few more hours afterwards at the reception. However, the ships often remain anchored on the ports since legal difficulties they may face on marriage license issues and sometimes queries are raised whether the marriage took place on the international waters or within the national limits.

Honeymoon on cruise ships-the sea and the sky bless the pair

To make your wedding arrangement worth remembering forever the cruise lines put in their maximum efforts. The rates offered for by the Carnival Cruises, Princess Cruises and Disney Cruises appear reasonable especially on consideration of the advantages included with their wedding packages. Packages wherein the bride and the bridegroom will feel like a princess and prince before the wedding are offered by the Princes Cruises. Extra attractions like romantic live music with stringed instruments, flowers and candles, will make the event unforgettable for your guests and dear ones.

What to Look for in Wedding Cruise Packages

What to Look for in Wedding Cruise Packages If you want a wedding to remember, look into wedding cruise packages. You can get married at sea or at one of the exotic locales along the way. Getting married on a cruise ship or having an island wedding ceremony makes your special day all the more unique.

Always dreamed of being married at sea? Today this is more than a possibility. Most of the major cruise lines offer wedding packages. Typical packages are seven day wedding and honeymoon packages to just about any exotic location you can think of. Others range from three to five days or as long as ten days.

Cruise lines actually have wedding coordinators to help you plan your wedding and design your package. You can usually get discounts for your guests as long as you meet minimum requirements. Some cruise lines offer free wedding and honeymoon planning services. Several of these services are available on the Internet.

Be sure you know how large the wedding chapel is before settling on a specific cruise package. You want to make sure your guests are comfortable. Cruise ship wedding chapels can't hold hundreds of people. However, you can have those you care for most attend your wedding.

Your wedding coordinator will help you with the specifics including flowers and photography. You can't have a wedding without photographs. The cruise line will generally have a photographer available for your special occasion. Find out if the photographer's cost is included in the cruise package or if you have to pay extra.

Ask about free amenities available to you and your guests. Some packages include a limo ride for the bride and groom to the cruise ship. Other packages include a wedding cake and complimentary breakfast in bed for the bride and groom. If you want to give your guests something special, ask your coordinator to look into it for you.

If you have a more adventurous spirit, consider getting married in a castle or perhaps the rainforest. Several cruise lines offer extreme wedding cruise packages that include the exchanging of vows in less traditional settings. Ask your wedding planner about these options.

One of the best features of wedding cruise packages is the fact that you can take your friends and families along for the incredible adventure. What a wonderful way to express your love and gratitude. Give them an all-expense paid romantic cruise. Whether they are married or single, they will appreciate it!

Types of Wedding Cruises

Types of Wedding Cruises When a person goes on a wedding cruise, they are making the same commitment that they would make in a Church, Mosque or other religious institution. There are many different types of wedding cruises being offered today, each one of them as legally binding as any other form of marriage. Many couples prefer wedding cruises to normal marriages because wedding cruises tend to be more extroverted and more romantic at the same time. Part of enjoying your wedding cruise is choosing the proper wedding cruise package for you.

The first type of wedding cruise is what is known as the aquatic wedding cruise. Under the regulations of the aquatic wedding cruise, the couple will go onto the cruise liner along with all of their guests and take the cruise for a few days. Once the cruise has been underway for a few days, the wedding ceremony will then take place on the ocean liner itself. The guest list will be comprised of the people that were specifically invited to the wedding and if the couples wish other people on the cruise can also come and witness the blessed event. Aquatic wedding ceremonies can happen either during the day or during the night and the ceremony itself frequently happens on the deck. Many couples prefer the night version simply because not only do they get to get married right under the stars, but there is also a stronger breeze from the ocean that tends to accentuate the emotions surrounding the ceremony. Both are possible, however and the choice is most definitely up to you.

In addition to aquatic wedding ceremonies, there are also land based wedding ceremonies that can take place on wedding cruises. This might seem to be counterintuitive at first glance; after all, how can there be a land based marriage on a cruise? Well, remember that a number of cruises do land at different ports of call and if the couple prefers they can have their marriage at one of those ports of call and do it in the style and tradition of the local population. This does not carry with it the romantic undertones that a marriage at sea under the stars does, but at the same time it can allow you to expose yourself to the beautiful ceremonies that many different tropical cultures boast. Regardless of the manner that you choose to do the ceremony, there is definitely a lot to be said for both the aquatic and the land based options.

Wedding Cruises - Bahamas Islands

Wedding Cruises - Bahamas Islands Many brides and grooms would rather have a wedding cruise than a church wedding. The wedding/honeymoon package is currently offered by most Caribbean cruise lines. In addition to the excitement of the ceremony, the bride and groom get to choose from many exciting and exotic destinations for their wedding.

By far the most popular and talked about cruise package is offered by the Disney Cruise Line. If you would like a wedding on the ship, you have your choice of beautiful ball rooms or possibly on the ship's deck. The party usually begins with the wedding with the reception following to include the cake cutting, champaign and festivities. The costs for this is about $1900.

You also have other options with the Disney Wedding cruise package. What would you think about getting married on a remote, secluded Bahamas Island, Disney's own Castaway Cay. If you are interested in this package, in the true flavor of romance, the bride will be taken to the island prior to anyone else. The groom follows with the wedding being held on the Castaway Cay. After the wedding the reception is held on the ship. In actuality the legal ceremony occurs prior to the bridal couple boarding the ship.

Now depending on what you choose from a large list of amenities and the total number of your guests, Carnival cruises offer many cost alternatives. For just the bride and groom, a wedding held in the port of Nassau in the Bahamas costs about $1150. Would you like to extend the party on board? Carnival also offers a "Welcome Aboard" addition raising the price to $1600. For a Deluxe Romance package, the price is over $1800. Now if your guest list grows, so does your bill! For an additional 50 guests, add $100.

You may be wondering what is in the "Welcome Aboard Package"? Included is a 1 hour reception, hors d'oeuvres, wedding cake and sparkling wine. Don't forget the photographer! He's also supplied with the package. As you can see, the Deluxe Romance Package wedding cruise offered by Carnival has a lot to offer.

The Carnival wedding cruises vary. For instance, the Carnival Valor, a ship, is theme based on the heroes of art, history, and literature. A special feature of the ship is the disco with video walls. Only their cruises in the Eastern Caribbean go to the Bahamas.

Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines also offers cruises but as a warning, verify that the particular cruise you are interested in offers the wedding package. Royal Caribbean Cruise lines require their ships must be in the Bahamas waters 24 hours prior to docking at the Nassau port prior to the ceremony. Pricing for the different Royal Caribbean Cruise packages vary from $1600 to $2000.

Truthfully, of all the awesome honeymoon/wedding packages, Royal Caribbean is tops! What is unique is the wedding ceremony actually takes place on the island. What makes it really convenient is all the arrangements can be made through the ship's wedding coordinator.

It is important to think of the honeymoon part of the wedding cruise as well. When considering a wedding cruise, consider carefully the atmosphere, the vistas and wonderful experiences that can be enjoyed. Really, there are numerous wedding cruises in the Bahama Islands available. Be sure to take the time to evaluate your needs, by choosing carefully, you will make your wedding truly memorable.

Another way you can make the trip romantic is by booking extras on your wedding cruise. Wedding Cruise - A Lovely Romantic ExperienceThe agreement is to get married and to make this wedding a most memorable one may be all that has been discussed.

The reception...leave that to the planners including the decorations, the band, the motif and all the so many preparations that goes with getting married. You just can not agree on specifics except that you will get married. However, you have that tugging feeling that your wedding must be more than what has been presented by the planners.

Has it ever crossed your mind to have a wedding cruise?

Wedding cruises are one of the most romantic and lovely experiences that couples should experience. Imagine being on the deck on a lovely night with the moon and the soft sea breezes. You could imagine palm trees at a distance and shore lights dancing on the far shore. The calm, the silence, the serenity of it all. You do not get that anywhere else except in wedding cruises.

On regular non-wedding cruises, you only have one moment, a few hours and after the reception and the dancing, the guests are gone. That is the end of it. You have planned it for so long and it lasted just a moment. On wedding cruises, no one will have the ability to go home. Even those who would have wanted to prolong the moment can sometimes be embarrassed at doing so. Not during wedding cruises. They either stay or jump ship.

Wedding cruises are made more memorable by family reunions. It can also be an event for a vacation with people you love most being at your side. It could be one of those rare moments when the family of the groom and bride can have a time for bonding between each other. Weddings are supposed to be in this tone and wedding cruises make it possible.

Planning a wedding cruise is not even as tough as wedding preparations are supposed to be. All you have to do is pick a plan, sign up and show up.

Wedding cruise consultants are experts on this.

Wedding cruise consultants are equipped to arrange for all the details from invitations, receptions, the clergy, the party afterwards, the band and if need be, the wedding dress.

One of the most challenging parts of any wedding is cleaning up afterwards. This is one job where the crew of the ship will be glad to do. You do not even have to supervise them. In fact you do not have to worry about anything else. This makes wedding cruises even more attractive. The crew can even supervises the kids' playtime. They are trained to serve kids of all ages, so kids from six to sixty can romp around anyway they want and have fun.

So where do you start?

After having determined the budget, find a website that gives information on wedding cruise articles. There is also a wedding cruise directory that will answer all your questions from wedding cruise destinations, wedding cruise prices, tips, suggestions, practically everything that you need to know about wedding cruises.
