Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Today is "new arrivals" day at PHB! Just added over 60 new items to the shop! Here are some highlights of a few of my acquisitions during the last month...

I can't believe that Fall starts next week! I've been busy, busy looking for new items for the website and wanted to share a few of my favorite finds...
Love this portrait of an eccentric Jazz-Era lady bejeweled in Bakelite jewelry. How about her painted green fingernails? This was painted in 1926. What a character she was!
This vintage hat box is from the Hotel Ritz in Paris. I can just imagine some fancy-dressed lady purchasing a new hat at the Ritz guest shop and sporting her way around Paris!
I just adore vintage French maps. I was thrilled to find these old books with fold out maps. One is from the Hotel Plaza-Athenee in Paris!
The prettiest pale pink tufted bench. Actually there are a pair of them. I love the bubble gum pink color, and the fact that they're leather!

A couple of new items added to the website, and much more to follow next week. Above is a vintage silver leaf settee upholstered in a steel bluish-silver silk. I'm crazy over silver leaf!
These Mid Century faux bamboo chairs have been reupholstered in a white linen. They have black lacquered frames.

HAPPY MONDAY! I'm excited to share some of my recent acquisitions added to the site today.
I nearly flipped when an antique dealer friend of mine contacted me about these rare barstools from the old Crown Room in San Francisco's Fairmont Hotel. Over the last ten years I have acquired a set of the chairs and one barstool. To find more is amazing. They are probably the most treasured pieces in my home. So, I'm keeping a pair and selling three.
I'm crazy over the Neoclassical style, and more importantly, where they came from!
The Crown Room was erected in 1961 as part of a 23 story Tower in the Fairmont Hotel. In its heyday, it was a fabulous restaurant and bar with a spectacular panoramic view of San Francisco. You could ride the glass elevator on the outside of the building to the Crown Room located on the top floor. Bejewelled crowns in glass showcases graced the Crown Room's entryway. So glamorous! It was renovated in the late 1990's and is now used for meeting and conferences. See the barstools in the photo?
Another fab find were these massive Art Deco hatstands from Paris. I have never seen anything like them before. They adjust to 4 feet & 6 feet tall! Solid brass with the wonderful embossing of Siegel, Paris. They must have been used as store displays due to their size.
I'm really drawn to oversized items. They make such a great statement in a room. I was excited to find this two foot tall hourglass!
And of course, lady portraits. I can never have enough. There are so many in my house that it's as if the paintings are staring at me saying, "Lady, what are you doing with all of us here?" Seriously, they are whimsical and fun. An instant family!

Lately I've been crazy about orange. Perhaps it's the arrival of summer that makes me want to add touches of color to my decor. Orange is such a great color. It's warm, cheerful and vibrant. I was excited to acquire some orange pieces this past month!
I flipped when I found this pair of mid century Asian figural lamps. The pale tangerine shades were the icing on the cake. What a great addition for a Hollywood Regency room. Just that extra pop of color adds the perfect touch to these lamps!
I fell in love with this vintage ballroom dancer oil painting. So cheerful with the brightly-colored gowns.
The orange cover of this vintage classic, Breakfast at Tiffany's, could add just a pop of color on a shelf or coffee table. Just like Hermes boxes. I have a few of them in my bedroom, and that little burst of orange lightens up a drab space.
I am crazy for masculine type of pieces. Lighting, mirrors and old desk accessories, I'm getting more and more into unusual pieces. This early standing shaving mirror would look perfect in a bathroom or corner of a bedroom. I have never seen one like it before and was thrilled to find it!
If you've been to my website, I am a big fan of globes. I had never seen a globe like this before. Globes coated with slating material were produced in the 19th and early 20th centuries as educational aids for the study of geography. Students practiced drawing maps in chalk on the surface. So unusual.
And this globe thrills me. It's a French glass globe. Never seen a glass globe before. It's going to hard to part with it!
Another fun find was this lyre-shaped gilt wood mirror. The glass is convex with an old, cloudy patina. Just the way I like them!
This old English office sign would look great on my desk, if only I had the space. That's the problem with selling antiques. You don't want to part with anything!
